Reports have emerged on Saturday morning that the Jos Electricity Distribution Company (JEDC) experienced a tragic incident as one of its employees was fatally electrocuted while conducting repairs in the Abbatoir area of Jos South Local Government Council in Plateau State.

The deceased, identified simply as Friday, was reportedly carrying out necessary repairs in the Abbatoir community when he was electrocuted due to the sudden restoration of power to the high-tension pole he was working on.

It was learnt that this unfortunate incident has left the community in shock and mourning.

A resident in the area said Friday was known for his dedication to his duties and his prompt response to customer calls whenever there was a fault in his assigned area.

Despite efforts by journalists to contact the JEDC’s Public Relations Officer, Dr Elijah Adakole, no response has been received as of this report.
