No Vacancy In Ondo Government House— Governor Aiyedatiwa Tells 15 APC Co-Aspirants

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has told his co-aspirants in the forthcoming governorship election in the state that there is no vacancy at the State Government House, Akure.

Aiyedatiwa, who said this while responding to questions from journalists after his screening at the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Secretariat in Abuja on Friday, said he was in control of the structure in the state.

Speaking on the controversy surrounding his WAEC certificate, the governor described those alleging that his certificate was forged as mischief makers, asking them to repent.

Aiyedatiwa was quoted as saying, “I will just advise them to repent and try to go to the field and work. They are interested in the seat, and the seat is not vacant, that is why they are trying to do all that they are doing.

“You see, we are all indigenes of Ondo State and we are all qualified to run to be the governorship of Ondo State, but there is a sitting governor. I have the structures; the people and the competence.”

Meanwhile, the APC has fixed its primary election for April 20, 2024 when Aiyedatiwa will battle with 15 other aspirants for the ticket of the party for the November 16, 2024 election.

The other aspirants in the party are: Senator Jimoh Ibrahim; Olusola Oke; Prof. Francis Faduyile; Dr Funmi Waheed-Adekojo and APC National Vice Chairman (South West), Isaac Kekemeke.

Others are; Akinfolarin Samuel, Olusoji Ehinlanwo, Okunjimi Odimayo, Adewale Akinterinwa, Olugbenga Edema, Gen. Ohunyeye Olamide, Morayo Lebi, Garvey Oladiran Iyanjan and Ifeoluwa Oyedele.
