Cultism: Anambra APC Candidate Nwoye Fights Deputy over Money in Awka

By Ekene Okoye

Another sordid tale of what may befall Anambra state should Hon Tony Nwoye find his way to the Government House occurred during the week when a brawl ensued between him and his Deputy at the pool-side of a hotel in Awka over monies meant for the rival cult groups which make up their campaign team. Nwoye is a member of the Neo-Black Movement of Africa (Black Axe) while his running mate Dozie Ikedife jnr belong to The Buccaneers Supreme Fraternity.

A highly reliable source within the group said that the fight which had been simmering for awhile reportedly came to the fore when Ikedife confronted Nwoye following repeated complains by his boys that they are regularly shot-changed even when they do most of the security work." In fact Ikedife told Tony, I am your senior and it is high time we sorted this once and for all. Tony's retort annoyed him and he pushed him leading to a scuffle and intervention of the members." He stated.

Mr. Jef, a witness of the pool-side brawl, expressed surprise at the rowdy scene. Said he; " I am visiting from Lagos and didn't know the guys. But I must say that I was worried about the concentration of a bunch funny looking guys especially when they pushed and shoved. I must say it was immediately controlled."

Attempt to get the confirmation of the hotel management was rebuffed by a Supervisor who stated: "It is our job to protect the confidentiality of our clientele."

It would be recalled that the APC candidate was reported to be cash-trapped to prosecute his campaign as a result of non-release of funds promised by most of the serving governors. It is also said that his business tycoon god-father is making frantic efforts in search of money to prosecute his agenda to take over Anambra.
