Emerhor, Ogboru and Opposition Politics in Delta State.

As the governorship and State House of Assembly draw near, we appeal to all Deltans of voting right irrespective of their political party, ethnic or religious allegiance to critically assess our state that has been governed by PDP for the past sixteen years and also assess the opposition candidates in the state.

The PDP has messed up all sectors in the state. Delta State as it is now, is no longer envied and respected by other state as it used to be. All industries/companies in the state have either collapsed or relocated to other states, all these can be attributed to the failure and bad governance of the PDP led government in the state.

Senator Ifeanyi Okowa is part of the cabal that has crippled the state having served as a commissioner, Secretary to the State Government and now Senator.

For the past sixteen years, the opposition in the state has been a shadow of itself as the opposition lacks the moral, political and financial strength to withstand the ruling party before, during and after elections and even at the elections tribunal.

Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru who was till now the face of the opposition in Delta State should be commended for his charisma and doggedness, BUT the peoples general, as he is fondly called has to a very large extent not helped the opposition as he has always been known to play cat and mouse game with the opposition- he disappears after one election and appears when a new election draws near, he is not known to speak against the ruling government in the state unless elections are around the corner. His romance with the PDP at the national level which gave him some juicy contracts and his subsequent endorsement of President Goodluck Jonathan of same PDP that has been tormenting the state is what the good people of the state cannot fathom out. His worst mistake and perhaps the one that may finally destroy his political carrier is his refusal to join the mega opposition party, the APC that has now won the presidential election. Chief Ogboru and his Labour Party doesn't seem to have what its take to wrestle power from the PDP.

The advent of the APC has changed the face of opposition politics in the state. The opposition has now waxed so strong that the PDP that is not known for campaigning is now vigorously campaigning all over the state. THIS "NEW AND SMILING FACE" OF THE OPPOSITION CAN BE CREDITED TO OLOROGUN O'TEGA EMERHOR WHO NURTURED DELTA APC FROM THE VERY SCRATCH TO ITS PRESENT GLORY STATE. Olorogun O'tega Emerhor did not just bring the APC to Delta State, he gave Delta APC national recognition. Olorogun Emerhor stood with Gen. Buhari, our president-elect from the beginning to the end, as such, he is got the backing and respect of our incoming president and party which have national outlook. Emerhor did not just bring glamour and succour to the opposition in the state, HE IS THE NEW FACE OF DELTA STATE'S POLITICS.

My good people of Delta State, we need to consider various factors as we go to polls on Saturday. Factors such as, the opposition party in the state that can march PDP financially before, during and after the elections most especially if the election's outcome results to going to court. TRUTH BE TOLD, DELTA STATE CANNOT AFFORD TO BE IN THE OPPOSITION.

The big questions those in opposition and others that are tired of the PDP led government in the state should ask themselves are, how can Chief Ogboru wrestle power from PDP that he has been romancing with? Can the labour party stand for him should he be rigged out as usual? Does Ogboru have the financial muscle to march PDP to any extent? Who are Labour Party Stakeholders in the state and at national level? Can Ogboru afford another electoral tribunal jamboree?

Can Delta State move ahead should the PDP win the governorship election as a result of Ogboru's insistence in showing up with small political parties that commands no respect and national recognition? Should the good people of Delta State continue to suffer in opposition because of Ogboru's ego and and deliberate political miscalculation?

Fellow Deltans, i call on you to critically answer the above questions before you cast your vote for Ogboru and the Labour Party.
